19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his first trophy for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging period, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in particular - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.
Presently training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
It is the player's first title after the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt since that period of the previous year.
The win also indicates he has won twenty-one titles at twenty-one various events.
"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is really nice," stated ranked player the champion.
"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my child her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, featuring in Halle previously this season.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had prompted some to wonder if his skill to compete at the top level was finished.
Yet the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
The champion came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the concluding five games to take the lead.
The pair traded service breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden tour title, gained dominance to push for a third set.
The opponent defended 4 early opportunities in a tight final set before Medvedev broke to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, Medvedev earned victory with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
